2007 FALL MEETING

Date: October 20, 2007

The fall meeting of the KSSA Board of Directors was held at Capital City Gun Club on October 20, 2007.  Present were John Downey, Dave Stewart, John Mannen, Jason Stitt and Mike Raymond.  Mike Raymond was representing Ark Valley Gun Club in Dan Hardesty’s absents.  The meeting was called to order by John Downey at 10:30 AM.

Old Business

Revised minutes of the spring meeting were presented by John Downey and were approved by unanimous vote.

A check register for the two checking accounts used during 2006 and 2007 was created by the Secretary Treasurer from bank statements for the period of November 1, 2006 to the present.  A copy of this check register was presented to the directors attending the meeting.  All bank transactions for this time frame are shown, although it is not possible to determine for sure the recipient of the first four checks or the specific source of three deposits.  The current balance of the checking account at Emprise Bank is $3,444.93.  There is also a Certificate of Deposit at Capitol Federal Savings that will be worth $1,650.55 on December 31, 2007.  That CD will mature on February 4, 2008.  The Treasurers report was approved.

A new member list of all 2007 KSSA members, including a history of all members since 2001, was created by the Secretary Treasurer and presented to the directors attending the meeting.

New Business

The dates and locations of eleven registered shoots were tentatively scheduled for the 2008 shooting year.  This schedule will be posted on the KSSA website.  Ark Valley Gun Club has agreed to host the 2008 Kansas Skeet Championships on the weekend of July 25^th, 26^th and 27^th. 

It was decided that the “Kansas Challenge Championship”, which was proposed at the 2007 spring meeting, would be implemented on a trial basis in 2008.  There was discussion as to how best track the points earned by all shooters throughout the year.  It was decided that the host club of each registered shoot must determine the points awarded and forward that information to the Secretary Treasurer after each registered shoot held during the year.  The Secretary Treasurer will then determine the results at the end of the shoot season.

Election of Officers

The Vice President offered the slate of existing officers to be nominated for the 2008 year.  The nominations were accepted and the officers were elected unanimously.  The 2008 officers are:
